Oregon Badminton Academy (OBA) began with a vision to bring world class badminton coaching and facilities to the Pacific Northwest. Today, OBA stands as a thriving community, where beginners and national level athletes train side by side under the guidance of internationally renowned coaches. From our humble beginnings to our rise as one of the most recognized badminton academies in Oregon, we’ve remained committed to excellence, inclusivity, and the love of the game.
Our Coaching Philosophy
We believe that talent can be nurtured with discipline, strategy, and heart. At OBA, training is more than physical; it’s about mindset, respect, and sportsmanship. Whether you’re learning your first grip or prepping for a national championship, our coaches tailor programs to fuel your growth on and off the court.

Mohammed Siyadath Ullah
- Former Indian National Team Coach (12 years) and BWF Certified.
- 20+ years of high performance coaching experience globally.
- Coached medalists at World Championships, Thomas Cup, and Commonwealth Games.
- Mentored and trained former World #1 athletes including Saina Nehwal, P.V.Sindhu and Srikanth Kidambi
- Dedicated to fostering sustainable training habits and athlete development.
Ajit Joshi
- BWF Certified Coach, guaranteeing world class training standards.
- Multiple time Champion at US Masters and Oregon State Games.
- Trained 100s of students at various levels.
- Certified USAB Badminton Umpire.
- Dedicated Talent Nurturer focused on all skill levels and ages.
Sandeep Nair
- 10+ Years Dedicated Service to the Oregon Badminton Academy (OBA).
- 25+ Years Competitive Play with extensive tournament experience across Oregon.
- Youth Development Specialist: Known for an energetic and enthusiastic approach to mentoring junior players.
- Core Focus: Instilling advanced skills, discipline, and a lasting passion for the sport.

- Technical Specialist focusing on advanced execution and court strategy.
